Trym’s work is born from a deep fascination with old Norse mythology and the wild creatures of Norway’s forests, mountains, and skies. In these paintings, he seeks to capture more than the likeness of the wolf and the raven. He reaches for their spirit.

Look closely, and the animals begin to reveal another world within them. Branches, roots, stone, wind, and wilderness move through their forms, as if nature itself is breathing beneath the ink. They are not separate from the land. They belong to it, and it belongs to them.

The wolf and the raven were natural subjects for this series. Both have long walked through myth and memory, carrying meanings beyond the material world. In Norse tradition, they are creatures of instinct, wisdom, omen, and unseen power. They are messengers between worlds, shadows at the edge of the firelight, companions to gods and stories alike.
